The Sarkyrama (Sarkrama - "Roaring stream") gorge is located above the Medeo skating-rink in front of the mudflow protection dyke, opposite Mount Mokhnataya sopka. It is about 2 km long and is seldom visited. In the middle of the gorge there is a small waterfall 3-4 metres high and up along the gorge in the forest massif there are ruins of an ancient two-room log small house (izba), the origin and destination of which is unknown. In the 60s of the last century, during the construction of the dyke the gorge became famous for huge avalanching that reached almost the Medeo skating-rink and the cubic capacity of which was hundreds of thousand cubic meters.
The mouth of the Sarkyrama gorge faces directly the body of the man-made mudflow protection dyke erected by a directed explosion method.
